American Sustainable Business Council Citizens United vs. FEC 2nd Anniversary Request for Support

Dear Friend,
As we approach the second anniversary of the Citizens United decision, we invite all business leaders who share our concern about the Citizens United decision—from Mom and Pop stores to the largest multi-nationals—to join the American Sustainable Business Council’s Business for Democracy Campaign and leaders such as Ben Cohen, Jerry Greenfield, Jeffrey Hollender, Yvon Chouinard Nell Newman Amy Domini, Seth Goldman, Wayne Silby, and the 1,000 others to support our campaign to overturn the Citizens United decision.
This campaign is an initiative of companies and business leaders who believe this ruling is in direct conflict with American democratic principles and a serious threat to good government. We stand with the four members of the Supreme Court and the 80 percent of Americans who disagree with the decision (Washington Post poll, Feb. 17, 2010).
We will continue to work for publicly financed elections and focus on passing key state resolutions, as we did with our ally Free Speech for People in filing the Amicus Brief in Montana which resulted in a successful decision. We will do this and much more as we seek to build support in favor of a constitutional amendment to protect our democracy, which is government by the people.
